Just like most of the members on this forum, I've been following the progress of UFC. When it first began, fighters brought their own style of fighting to the arena to test it's effectiveness regardless of weight class and lack of proper equipment. With the assistance of loyal fans and sponsors over the years, UFC has been able to produce more sophisticated fights, bringing in properly equipped fighters with excellent striking and submission skills. This sport has a good chance of replacing K-1 and Boxing in the near future.
The one question that arises about MMA as it's become more mainstream is: Do you think that the entertainment industry will try to influence the UFC to rig thier fights, so certain fighters can win and sponsor their products? ![]() One fight that I felt was not properly matched was the Chuck Liddell vs Jeremy Horn fight. Chuck Liddell is a favorite with all the fans. Jeremy Horn spends most of his time coaching and I didn't feel he was at the neccessary level to compete with the Iceman. Now Chuck trains and promotes a steakhouse. What do you all think?

There was no way the Horn vs Lidell fight was rigged, Horn simply got shitrocked... and thats coming from someone who wanted him to win...
as for the whole... fixing of fights... it could happen, but I hope it never does.. that would be a dark day in the history of the sport...
