Default Workout Logs: Running

I'm trying to revitalize my running thread, which enjoyed about a years worth of logs, some valuable gems in terms of training concepts and personal challenges between members, thanks to Tree who had enough heart to stay with it.

After a little research, some new shoes and alot of sweat I cut my 1-mile time from about 7:30 to 6:15-ish within 9 months of consistent work. I was also able to run some nice distances keeping a 9:00 pace.

My new goal is to continue to become a faster runner at distances under 5 miles, while improving my cardio and leg power. I'm going to use this site to keep up with my training log. Others are welcome too.

I'm looking for training advice from experienced runners, particularly those who have gotten past training plateaus. Thanks.

I have some excellent tips that you and fellow readers may find useful for running. Here they are:

* Put your trainers on along with (depending on weather) shorts and t-shirt or jogging bottoms and long sleeved rash guard

* Leave your place of residence...moving your feet in a fast walk type motion.

* Speed this up until you find yourself running

* Continue running until you get bored and then hitch a lift back home.

Regards,
Sad Sack

Nice. That's as simple as it gets, SS.

I prefer to run back the distance I've covered.

If I run 7 miles, I've got to run 7 miles back.

I've reposted on the same thread in the fitness section.
