Default How would i get a JKD school at least 20 miles of where i live :)

Ok guys, I've e-mailed Master James Sinclair and sifu Abid Mahmood who covers the midlands region about it, as my closest JKD class's i can goto is in treeforest in wales or the JKD academy in coventry.. both of them are over 30 miles away and its abit harsh for my parents to drive me to coventry and back..

Any sugegstions would help, Thx

btw i live in England, Herefordshire.

We've really got some brainiacs with some awesome suggestions around here!!!!!!!

Well it is a fairly silly question. Perhaps he could build his own? Or beg a JKD instructor to move his school nearer to him? What do you think, Army Toy Boy?

I like that. See the reason I like that is because I have came across your type before Thai. Either you make fun of people in the military because 1. You tried to join and they would not take you or 2. You thought about joining and then decided you did not have enough balls to make it.

Actually I was through the initial stages of becoming an officer in the Parachute Regiment, but joined the cops instead. But so what? I know loads of military guys. A lot join the cops after their military careers. Some are fine, some are knobs.

The ones that try to pretend they're special because theyve been in the military are the knobs. No exceptions, Knob.

So we finally get to the root of it...he was kicked out of the military. I am not trying to act like I am special because I was in the military but if I think that you can come and whip up on someone that has been through the special ops hand to hand combat course and WAS a paratrooper...............NO!

How can you get kicked out of something that you were never in? I was going through initial application procedures, thats all. Over here being a Para means something. They don't justlet you in if you can fall..........

But it matters not. I have met many Paras and Commando types. Some are still very fit and dangerous. They're the ones who keep quiet about their past. And some are has beens that always prattle on about it, but basically couldn't knock their way out of a paper bag. Like you.....

If you read back to when this arguement started I was not bragging nor really talking about my service in the military, but trying to make a valid point that in the military hand to hand combat course there are elements of Judo and BJJ. I don't brag about me service in the military although I am proud of it. On the other hand I am the kind of person that does not let some washed up has been wanna be martial artist talk sh#t like he can come over and whip me. I am afraid that you are out trained, out gunned, and all around out matched so just give it up.

Fist Consider another style, at a closer dojo

Consider another style, at a closer dojo.
That's all I can suggest, young man.
It does not matter about the style, so long as you have a great
teacher, and apply yourself to do the best you can, with everything
his wisdom can offer you.
Obviously, you want to be, Lee Shi-Long. (You call him Bruce Lee)
We are all individuals, therefore, we can only be the best -
that "we" can be, as individuals. In other words. You'll never be him;
but you can be exactly like him, as long as you learn any
"Transitional" style martial art system. Do not limit yourself to learning
one style, or one method of fighting; even TKD. The braud fact is...
TKD is theory. Without the physical elements of "various" styles,
incorporated into the concept of TKD, it would be nothing more than
a complexity of philosophical reccomendations, implicating its'
metaphysical state as being such; yet focusing on the necessity of its' facilitation, yet, without a "set" of physical elements as a beginning, and
thus, with no limitation, as an end.

Find a Sifu closer to you, and open your mind to his wisdom.
Go-Dan ~ Bi-Long

Go learn young one. Just go learn.

ive never tried to join.. but from what i know... dont they accept anyone into the USMC... i mean... some of the guys in there aren't exactly Mr. Commando...

umm, back to the guy who made the post, Jason, there really isnt much you can do, either drive the 30 miles, or dont... i see you cant drive yet, so maybe make a day out of it, get ur parents to do things around there or find/make a friend near the complex so you could, on some nights, stay there, make it easier on them...

other then that.... find a new school

peace
