October 15-16, 2005 Bentonville, Arkansas.

Topics:
The Circles of Taijiquan: It's the reel thing
The Mechanics of Kua Usage: Mysteries "hidden" right before our eyes

These topics are appropriate for all levels of skill and familiarity with Taijiquan and are excellent advanced training for other styles of martial arts.

Chen Zhonghua's story is classic. Born prematurely, his health was poor and his life expectancy short. He was too weak to attend school, yet a local martial art instructor began teaching him. Gradually, his health improved and his strength increased saving his life. His prospects brightened as he continued to practice.

In the city of Jinan, he began learning from "the old man in the park". The "old man" turned out to be none other than Grandmaster Hong Junsheng, 18th generation master of Chen Style Taijiquan and disciple of the great Chen Fake. Though Hong was reluctant to take on a new student, Chen's perseverance softened Hong's heart. Years later, on June 18, 2004, Hong Junsheng's family and disciples officially selected Chen Zhonghua as "international standard bearer of the Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method System."

In 1998, through the introduction of Mr. Liu He and Professor Feng Xiufang, Chen became a disciple of Grandmaster Feng Zhiqiang, 18th generation master of Chen Style Taijiquan, the last disciple of Chen Fake and founder of the Hunyuan Taiji System.
As an "indoor" disciple of two of the most important 18th generation grandmasters of Chen Style Taijiquan (Hong Junsheng and Feng Zhiqiang), Chen Zhonghua brings a unique perspective on the teachings of Chen Fake through two of his major disciples. With over 25 years of practice, Master Chen Zhonghua has a deep understanding of the rich contents of the forms, internal energy, theory and application of Taijiquan. His understanding goes beyond the conventional view. And, his ability to express himself in English gives Western students a rare experience.

Here's what a few workshop attendees have said :

One two-day-seminar student explained, "I've been involved in the Taiji community for nearly fifteen years. Yet, in a few hours, by feeling what Chen Zhonghua is doing and with his verbal explanations, my prior knowledge has been dwarfed by what I have learned here."

A female attendee exclaimed, “Master Chen is indeed incredible. He is like a whole wall coming at you!”

A martial art veteran, Michael Calandra, after first meeting Master Chen said, “In my 16 years as a NYC police officer, I have seen it all. As a long time Karate Sensei, I have never seen martial skill like Master Chen's.”
