The DVD was quite good and actually exactly what I was looking for in that I wanted to grab some of the deeper meanings of the philsophy, strategy and tactics. Its deep and probably will take a few viewings to absorb. I want to really be able to understand the thai arts and this is definitely a great first step. I highly recommend it even if you are not involved in the thai arts because alot of people appreciate understanding the strategies employed by the different martial arts. Im eager for the second one which will hopefully go further in detail especially with the physical drills and techs. hope this helps

I saw the DVD and it is really good material.
The Colonel introduces the philosophy and the whys and hows of muay; I could see how the general ideas behind ancient muay techniques that are common in the west are false. The techniques he shows are devastating. His teaching is clear and simple. I agree with George, the DVD is very interesting even for those who are not into the thai martial arts and is a goldmine for those who are. Definitely waiting for the second DVD. |

Missed the last two Col Amant seminars but they were filmed and DVD Volume 2 - Physical Structure will be out in about two weeks. So I am looking forward to this, my friend went and he said alot of info was covered and it was taught in a progression which makes it clear to follow and train. I'll get more info and post shortly.

Here is a quick review as I got a preview copy to watch.
Colonel Amnat Pooksrisuk Bare Knuckle Muay Thai Vol 2 - Physical Structure running time: 2 hours cost: $39.95 available at: http://www.bareknucklemuay.com The first dvd was the first dvd ever to cover the basic strategies and principles of the thai martial arts relating to bare knuckle(http://www.ancientmuay.com) and this one begins the physical techniques training portion. There is very little talking here but a full progression of techniques from basics into combinations, there is a weave of princples that directly apply to the techs. The DVD is a full two hours long cut tight with no repeating and constant forward momentum. There is a short section that I loved where he demonstrated the princple of krabi kabong and how the strategy of attack applies to bare knuckle. also loved the clear explanation of the lion walk and the tiger walk and how they applied to specific styles. I have been practicing the multitude of partner drills in preparation of going to thailand and its been alot of fun working the techs. There is alot on this dvd in every way shape and form. If you are into the thai martial arts, bare knuckle or just martial arts in general, there is something good on this for one. Longer review forthcoming. |

New Black Belt September 2006 has some nice comments on DVD 1 on page 73 in the essential gear section, as well as a good lengthy article on indian wrestling previously covered on the physical body dvd......
I'll be reporting in from Thailand soon as I get ready to relocate! |
