Sparring Instructor

I was approached by another martial artist that his instructor does not spar his advanced students.
His reasoning is that he does not want them to get "hurt"
His instructor had sparred them in the beginning.
I'm looking for responses

I've met some boxing coaches who don't spar with students all of the time, but has enough fighters that he can pair you up with someone who will work you at your level.
