The S.O.B. needs to know how to cap. Hasty ambush and counter ambush are very very important. Next, I would teach my family member how to pray to the Gods for help. That's the only thing that's gonna save your Arse. The Army and Marines will teach you the rest.

ugh have you ever been in the military??? also just so you know both the Navy and the Air force have very capable ground forces...also not to start a religous debate here, but since you brought it up, exactly what sort of mike forces does GOD send to the rescue these days? Oh wait if you think the military teaches you all you need, you probably were never in it and dont know what a mike force is, so to paraphrase a famous quote..."how many divisions does god command?" (i know, i know it was originally the pope). ambush is good though, you know what they say...ambush is killing, killing is.... i think most vets will agree the military teaches you what they want you to know, not necessarily what you need...see Samurai Guy's thread on it...... ambush is good though, you know what they say..."ambush is killing, killing is...." so since you recommend ambush whats your favorite pattern and why? i like the L or a pair of L's when you have the personnel.

I ain't gotta prove nothing to you--I'm 13 foxtrot. Peace out, also, I'm not giving away my secrets. Also, I know the navy has the Seals and the air force has their special units. But, I'm not jepordizing the boys on the battlefield by discussing classified and some top secret tactics here on an open world wide forumn. This is the world wide web and I learned not to discuss religion on the internet. Roger Out--13 Foxtrot

no one asked you to "prove anything" ....and ambushes are hardly "top secret." the instructors from the warfighting college have published books on the subject in the civilian world...
Btw the Air Force special forces are the Air Commando, they are based out of Hurlbert field that aint top secret either... I believe YOU brought god into the war threads. i just pointed out what warriors always ask when someone does so.... i appreciate your input though....however i wont be adding prayer to my family's self defense methods, however how to plan and assault ambushes, house clearing, defensive driving, making and spotting booby traps, quick kill methods with firearms, edged weapons and your hands are included....as well as tracking, hunting. fishing, camping, scuba diving, boating, exotic weapons, blow guns, bow and arrow, flexible weapons etc and survival training are a part of the family readiness program. before you start jumping up and down calling me a militia nut...i am 3rd generation military with a family FULL of active duty and retired operators, some in the state dept (M.S.D) others who are Fed Marshalls and every service except the coast gaurd has vets form my family...we have survival school instructors, h2h instructors all who add thier skills to the family's accumulated knowledge of military tactics from almost 100 years of continual service in our country's military....and none of us trust them to teach our sons and daughters every thing they need to know to save thier lives when Mr murphy comes a callin....

and Mike i agree 100% that learning to think conceptually and learning the logic train are critical....and how much "fun" is it to remove items from the "toolbox" just to screw with that thought process and see how they overcome the that obstacale ever hear the urban legend about the semi weged under the bridge? all the experts were standing around trying to figure out whether to jack the bridge up or cut the top off etc while the little kids were wondering why they didnt just let the air out of the tires its funny how people with more technical knowledge write the books and the people with real world knowledge fit it to the task at hand... i think manuals outlining required inspections of readiness and gear in general illustrate my point best. if you actually did the daily required maintenance on every thing you had, and the pre and post use inspections to boot there wouldnt be time left for the actual task. you have to learn how and why those guidlines were written and then combine tasks do the essentials. i realize the spit n polish, mickey mouse bs is designed to teach attention to detail, but once in the fleet (field) it needs to relax....the navy knows this for the most part and relaxes uniform and hair standards at sea, (excepting the inevitable asshole fng officers of course). My dad still folds all his towels and underwear in a "Cadet E" and if you fold family laundry you WILL do the same Dont even get me started on folding hospital corners on the beds. all that stuff does is create robots with fixed patterns of thought who are predictable and therfore easy to confuse... it seems that thinking outside the box would be a far greater skill than creating a box of iron so to speak... HMM think im babbling it must be dinner time.... |

i definatly dont know much about you hardballs, but let me tell you, i do know alot about boar spear, and you DO NOT have the gusto to go toe to toe. I think your comments were very "WISH YOUCOULD, BUT NEVER WOULD" in thinking.
I am in theater, now, as i type, and let me tell you that there is nothing to lookforward to about anything you have talked about. you talk about ambushes like they were being played in a paintball game. "Peace be with you..." what kinda crock is that. some one responds to what you say, be a man, dont try to blow them off with a comment like that. there are alot of army guys here where i am at...and mmost of them are not very impressive. I dont know what a 13 whatever is, but i hope it is more impressive that the mountian, airborn, or ranger guys here. I am over here as a private security contractor, and i have been there and done that, so let me tell you something...dont you talk about your as mwell as my, brothers at arms how you reminis about a ambush or getting "whacked" (no one really uses that word except on "the shield" or something) because its hard enough NOT thinking about it. |

whoa, tell us how ya really feel about the rank and file...just remember bro, the worlds full of amateurs... Most of those guys joined up for the wrong reasons...(remember? We both thought the same shit once) then when they got there all delusions dissolve...suddenly the cool badassed warrior isnt The scared kid bluffin his way through and wanting to get home IN ONE PIECE takes over. nothing worse than an an enemy who wont "play by the rules and stand and fight like a man" to shake a budding soldiers confidence in his training and leaders... Just Remember youre an old pro (literally) and dont be too hard on the youngins over there, unless ther'ye acting ignorant in that case kick 'em in the balls once fer me.... |
