ALL your electronic communications are being monitored!!!
.................................................. Soldiers' calls home 'intercepted' 25/06/06 Soldiers serving in Iraq have been warned of the danger of insurgents using sophisticated electronic equipment to intercept their mobile phone calls and obtain the numbers of their wives and family at home in the UK, it was reported today. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that there was concern over reports of a number of "nuisance calls" to servicemen's families. But it played down suggestions that the calls had included death threats. The Sunday Telegraph quoted a document sent to soldiers of the Territorial Army's London Regiment, which has soldiers fighting in Iraq. The document warned that insurgents in southern Iraq had managed to obtain the home telephone numbers of British soldiers using electronic intercept devices. It said there had been "many instances in the last weeks of relatives and friends of personnel serving abroad on operations getting nuisance phone calls". The TA document advised personnel to be aware of the danger of nuisance calls if they used their mobiles to phone home. The newspaper suggested that the calls had included claims that a father or son serving in Iraq is dead or will soon be killed, as well as verbal abuse or silence. But the MoD said in a statement: "There have been reports of nuisance calls to the families of service personnel. To our knowledge, nuisance calls have been just that - nuisance calls. We are not currently aware of any reports of anything more sinister." An MoD spokeswoman declined to comment on the TA document. ............................................................... If you used the "haji" internet cafe on your FOB...your e-mails were being copied and sent for possible insurgent use. Good operational security ALWAYS is necessary...If you must use "hajinet" PLEASE use www.hushmail.com it uses a secured SSL connection to their servers, so Haji needs their own NSA to crack the session, and OpenPGP to send the messages, its as easy as using Gmail. (Hushmail has both free and paid editions) This second recommendation might be a stretch for most people, but I might as well include it anyways, GSMK CryptoPhones - www.cryptophone.com The crypto units are about $1250 each and there is an adapter for Thuraya phones. Thanks guys watch your six, these reports are from the UK so far but if they can get their mobile phones info they can get ours and remember these scum may target your families with something more than a few phone calls.
