My fav post, though I can't find it, is where Mike made a petition for people to contact their reps and senators in congress to start drilling our newfound oil supply.

In all seriousness, I'm flattered that you feel I've put out some useful information. That's the goal of having a forum like this, after all, and if some of the things I put out there are beneficial, then that makes me happy.

Regarding my "opposition" here, that's understandable too. I love debate as much as I love fighting arts. I think debate is "mental sparring," and I believe it teaches you to understand and defend your own viewpoints. If you pay attention, it also teaches you to see the things you haven't looked at yet. For me, it's educational, and I really enjoy debate with people like treelizard, Hardball, Tom Yum, and even Uke because they are people who tend to have a good grasp on why they believe the things they do. They research, educate themselves, and for the most part are willing to entertain ideas that they don't neccesarily subscribe to. We can argue for days, and still be cordial and friendly outside the debate. Other people, however, don't have the mental flexibility or maturity to not take debate personally. So they get mad and hate me. Others still feel like my opinions and experiences are somehow an insult to them personally. If I insult someone who doesn;t deserve it, I apologize. But I won't apologize for my experiences being contrary to their beliefs, and I won't apologize for insults directed at those who I feel had it coming. That probably earns me a few enemies as well.

All in all, I'm okay with that.
Apology accepted

Too much to mention them all but what really comes to mind is his post regarding Rifle Markmanship skills (Various tips, do's and don'ts) all of his threads in the Boxing fourms and his JKD threads.

Mike has a rather nerdy look that couldn't strike the fear of God in a nun.

Actually, Medic is one of the people I enjoy debating with the most. Not because he's intelligent, well-read, and a capable debater (although he's all of those things). Mostly it's just because he's so easy to beat.

(here comes another neg rep...)
There you go contradicting yourself again Mike. If I was an intelligent, well-read, and capable debater I wouldn't be easy to beat, now would I

No, I enjoy debating, especially in an area such as politics (which I will admit I'm a hopeless novice) since it does sharpen my mental tools for subjects which I am interested in. I never lose when I come away with new knowledge and understanding.

My favorite quote of Mike's is something like "Jeez, people always want to make something complex out of simple things."

Seeing as this is turning into Mikes Epitaph or whatever, I'd like to add this gem, which is a small snippet from a PM that I hope Mike doesn't mind me sharing.

With regards to this imbecile, I've spoken with him out of public view several times. He is a complete cock.
Had me ROFLMAO.

Why I mention that, is that Mikes moderating has been damn fine in my view.

Second

Also, he's started, or fostered, or been the main contributer to some of the most interesting and informative threads this board has ever seen.

i have been more involved in the board the past week or so, and MB's posts are without question something to take note of. very insightful, and easily supported. keep it coming mike. i think you are positively affecting more people than you know. keep it positive, but when the time calls for it keep it real like you normally do. cheers.
