So how do people get murdered with gun if they are illegal of there?

That was 8% of murders etc., not 8% of crimes. As for your last point..... its easy. Criminals got them illegally. Would you like to compare stats with how many people in the UK get murdered with guns, compared to how many people in the US (including those who were entitled to use a gun to defend themselves of course).

And, of course, the wilfully blind always try to include the Northern Ireland stats, and pretend that the fact that there was an official war going on between the military and terrorists was somehoe relevant to ordinary folks in England, Scotland and Wales! Haw haw haw!

If your culture has it right, then surely the amount (or, to be fair, the amount taking into consideration the respective numbers our society contains) should be lower in your country than it is in mine.

Let us all know what ya find!

I bet you find that thousands of people get killed by guins in the USA every year. And that the figures for the UK, even taking into consideration the differences in population numbers, is absolutely unbelieveably miniscule.

Is there an urban combatives response to the ambush or kidnapping scenario?

Why? The statistics state that your chances of surviving said scenario decrease if you voluntarily leave the scene.

Yes we threw a beat down on the British during the American Revolution. And we saved them from Hitler's merciless army and navy, but today they are one of our few allies on the GWOT.

We're even cross-training with them.

The terror plot mentioned was an act against civilians, that could be replicated here at home.

That being said, what tactics can civilians use to defend themselves against an ambush of this kind? Being armed and prepaired is a plus, but ambushes can happen really fast...

Anyone?

Travelling in packs and staying together. Having a buddy or two with you can increase your chances of survival.

Staying in well lit, populated areas - if possible. If not, have something that can be used as a weapon: hard weapon - soft target.
