This is frustrating as hell for alot of people.
Privatization of national intelligence? You could argue that privitization of national intelligence would increase competition (improve accuracy and presentation), drive efficiency (timely delivery) and create wealth (charging what the market says its worth, paying greater wages, raising bond and stock market capital) but its as fallable as the people in the organization and takes the same shade as its culture. Intelligence would serve those who could pay for it and put us into different kinds of wars for different reasons. lots of implications...

Frustrating? To who the people who tried to lie and cover it up? Or to the people who were cheerleading for the now exposed lies and manipulaters?
Those of us who have been aware of the danger to our country aren't frustrated, we're happy to see investigations into misleading our country into a war that may turn into ww3 now that these same proven liars claim Iran is involved. I'm sure all the liars and those duped into believing them are frustrated. However, those of us hoping our country has any chance of surviving the liars now running our country into the ground have been given hope. Yeah that would cut down on the embarrassment of getting caught manipulating the country into unfounded wars...but It damn sure wouldn't stop it.

Quote:
Companies are driven by profit, which ultimately ends up in the hands of its owners and other stakeholders (lenders, bond holders). There business decisions are driven by a board of directors who ultimately answer to the owners. Who would audit the company's financial statements? Normally this is handled by a big name accounting firm. The auditor would be able to know alot about the intelligence firm and as what happens, stuff could leak out breaching national security. And think of all the service companies associated to this National Intelligence firm. Everything from the cola machine vendor to personell agencies would be able to source information about the company...
