Hi, I just found this cool website on kickboxing and martial arts. In this article there's an interview with 5 times Muay Thai world champion Martin and his Chinese Sifu. What do you guys think about the interview, and has anyone seen any of his fights? I always wondered what a Kung Fu Vs Muay Thai would fight looks like. Gladly anticipating your responses.

this is BS. first, read those belts.......for one, there in english, why would the thai make the writing on their belts english, two only one of those belts is for muay thai, the others are weapons. three, look at the size of that guy and look at the size of thai fighters, do you honestly believe he would qualify for anything other than heavyweight.
there is an interesting story ive heard from a few thai people. apparently five of the top chinese kung fu fighters came to thailand and fought five MT fighters. the total time for all the fights was just a little over 5 minutes and all of the chinese fighters were KOed. im not positive on how true this is but ive heard it from a few thai people, maybe some of you more knowlagable MT posters could help me out. |

Well, if you look at this picture, he's not really that big. He's probably around 5'9. He might look big because his Sifu is short. Quote:

Another thing to closely examine is the fact that he has a belt listing MULTIPLE WEIGHT CLASSES.
NO FIGHTING ORGANIZATION DOES THAT!!!!! There is a seperate belt for each weight category!!!! Look, the guy may actually be legit. You never know, but him posing with those belts means SQUAT!!!!! As someone else mentioned, he could have had those belts made anywhere. An example, the title belt that I won in 1994 was never actually given to me. I was only allowed to pose with it for some photos after the event, then I had to turn it back over to the fight organization. I never lost the title to anyone, but was never allowed to keep my belt. My instructor bought me a replica of the belt from Thailand (Lumpinee Stadium-style belt) which I now have. The belt I currently have is near perfect replica of the one that I won, but its still a replica. So who knows, maybe this guy had something similar happen to him? But, its OBVIOUS that this guy is NOT a champ from Lumpinee or Radjadamnern Stadiums. Muay Thai in Thailand has many, many levels of competition. He could very possibly have been a contender is some backlick region in Northern Thailand (but I doubt it) or on some international circuit (most likely). Khun Kao
