Default Funny story...

At our gym today after a long and tiring work out we were just hangin around the front and just talkin and stuff. There is a display case with some muay thai short in it. Our trainer points to one of the shorts and tells us that he will give $1000 to whoever can guess what is written on the shorts. Now none of us can read Thai or anything. But I can tell what "muay thai" looks like in thai writing... and it was obviously not that. So everyone is just trying to guess what it says... Then after a while our trainer gave us a hint and said it starts with an "L" And after 5 seconds of thinking I shouted out "LUMPINI!!!!" and everyone kinda looked at me like "what?" Nobody else had even heard of Lumpini. Except my trainer ofcouse. hahaha... and my trainer was lookin at me all weird like "damn, how the hell did you know?!" I guess he didnt expent anybody to know about that stuff. So i got all excited because i thought i had won $1000.... Then he tells me hell no i aint givin you a $1000, i had my fingers crossed! Then i was like... haha. It was pretty cool though. Just thought i would share with everyone...

I don't get it.
Your teacher said that he would give $1,000 to anyone who guessed correctly.
You did guess correctly , and then he told you that he's not giving you $1,000?
What's so funny about that? Seems to me that your teacher lacks honor or honesty or both.
Anyway, this is just my view on it. You can take your teacher's reaction to the $1,000 bet as a joke of course if you wish to.

I would let him know that he doesn't have to give me $1000, but I will come to classes for free over the next year

It's a cheap type of wine, like Lambrusco or Lambrini, only lighter and with more fizz...

No lumpinee is one of the high profile Muay Thai stadiums in Bangkok. I went the to watch fights twice on my last visit, it's alot of fun.

Kinda hard to explain the humor in it online... but i guess you just had to be there. It was funny seeing everyones reaction when i guessed it right. Because my trainer didnt think anyone would know what Lumpini or Lumpinee, however its spelled, is.
