Default Ong-Bak Muay Thai Warrior

Guys I just watched a Thai movie called Ong-Bak, the story line is very traditional, Buddhism and Muay Thai, well actually Muay Boran or MaeMai Muay Thai is what you have a sense for from the beginning.

At the start of the movie a Thai villager volunteers to search for the head of a sacred Buddha statue that was stolen, off he goes to Bagnkok in search of it an on his way he gets mixed up with corrupted Thais into drugs and what not....

......he ends up in a illegal fighting den where he litterally beats 3 people up in a row using maemai Muay Thai (Muay Boran). It is amazing to actually see Muay Thai on teh screen like this and it reminds me of a Bruce Lee movie but with power!

Its a fantastic movie if you like action martial art flicks, a must see if you are a keen Muay Thai enthusiast.

fucking brilliant in my opinion, the action makes up for the cheesy story line, where else do you see a Tuk-Tuk chase??? haha.

forgot to mention that its in Thai with no subtitles!

retired, dude I am in no way exaggerating when I say this but Ong-Bak must be one of the best action martial art movies I have seen since SEEING martial arts movies, I am 27.

The story is sorta cheesy as hell but man it is an amazing piece of work, I understood very little of what was being said but body language was enough. the stunts are totally amazing, real Jacki Chan style shit, he actually makes contact with the guys he hits and its Muay Boran that he is using! Amazing as it looks so simple yet powerful. It totally works.

the end fights are amazing as he uses Krabi-Krabong and then resorts back to unarmed fighting, walks up the body of the bad guy and cracks his skull open with a drop elbow.... you have to see it. It is fun. the start is weird, they all run up a big tree to grab a sash, first one to get it obviously wins, they start chucking each other of the tree! haha.... dude get the film and watch it i just hope there will be more with Muay Thai as the martial art being used as it works tremendously in my opinion.

If you cant get it and have a fast connection let me know I could maybe peer-peer it to you.

Hey guys, Ong Bak 2 is in the works over here in lala land and my good buddy is playing the role of a major villain in it. I'm hoping he can get me on the set (or in the freaking movie!), I'll let you know all about it when I know more!

I agree, it's a great martial arts movie, Ja the main actor is very talented and makes Muay Thai look really dynamic and exciting (even more so than usual!)

Hey man, things are going great. Haven't been training Muay Thai yet since I'm showing my girlfriend around doing the tourist thing but I have been weight training and going to Asia Pacific TKD school to train since my friend owns it (the one who was in Ong Bak 1 and will have a bigger role in Ong Bak 2).

I'll meet up with you for sure in 3 weeks if shooting doesn't start yet for a potential role I might get. I might be in the next big Colin Ferrel movie that is set in the Roman Era, I'll have to undergo an intensive 2 week bootcamp training to learn how to use Roman weaponry... pretty cool. I hope things work out.

Email me when you get close to coming to Thailand!
