Question Kickboxing Newbie****PLZ READ***

Hi Guys and Gals

I'm 22 and I'd like to start attending kickboxing classes. But before I do that, I'd like to stretch as musch as it is possible to be able to kick higher and with more speed and power.... and here's the question: do you know any effective excercises that would help me get best results in a short period of time?

Could you also give me some tips concerning kickboxing classes?

thank you in advance

For flexibility I would tell you to try out pilates for at least 2 weeks. Worked wonders for me. For the power aspect you might have to get a heavy bag to work on. But the pilates will help strengthen your legs too.

Stretching is not something you wanna rush. Only stretch after warming up, never before. And also stretch after class. But go slowly or you could hurt yourself...

To get more speed and power in your kicks you're gonna have to work on your technique and beat the crap out of pads and heavy bags...

Tips concerning kickboxing classes?... well... don't be pissed if you get beat up by a girl in class No, seriously, give yourself some time to learn good basic technique before putting too much power in your kicks... anyways the instructor will gide you on your journey
