yep, they have a saying about muay thai in Europe - if it aint Dutch, it aint much. Actually the french and germans are getting really good too. But the Dutch were the first to bring muay thai to Europe and have more than their fair share of fighters that fight in Thailand and in K-1 (Hoost, Overeem, Aerts, Bonjasky, Rijker) and they've even recruited and trained few Americans.
I'm looking for fight info about Dekker and his weight class.

Standup we rule
If only we could sharpen our groundfightingskills maybe it's because we went from Karate strait to japanese kickboxing and MT instead of fooling around with safetykicks It was Jan Plas of Mejiro Gym Amsterdam who brought the Japanese kickboxing of Kurosaki to the Netherlands (the Gym is named after Kurosaki's Gym in Japan) And Thom Harinck of Chakuriki who brought MT to our country as a reacrion to the kickboxing (politics) KB was promoted as a better way of testing, you could not be screwed by the judges ( so they thought) because a KO can not be denied Never as a better martial art, therefore you will find that a lot of dutch instructors do both karate and MT/KB (maybe that's one of the reasons why we excell)

I think Ramon fought at 61 kilo and he is no longer fighting which makes him NOT the best fighter.
Ramon was given the best foreign boxer title from the king of Thailand, its true he was a fantastic "boxer", his punching skills outmatched the Thais so this is what he was known for. His Thaiboxing skills were good, not the best. He and Coban had leapfrog wins against each other, Coban was also known for his powerful use of the hands. Ramon was light but hit like a heavy weight.... he fought many times in Thailand and a lot of europeans refused to fight him until he recieved a serious injury, he could not use one of his legs to kick with, then europeans were flocking to fight him and he still defeated them.... Ramon was just a pure fighter, the Thais loved him and still do. The reason the Dutch are so good is because of their weight advatnage, the Dutch are big people and in Thailand there aint many big Thais.

So the dutch are heavier than the Thai, that is an indication why they dominate the thai but then why aren't others doing the same, and why are the dutch dominating MT/KB worldwide, not just against the thai
the dutch aren't bigger than the average european nor are we heavier than the average american, so what can be the reason for for the dutch dominating those?

Its Dutch training methods. Mejiro Gym is no joke!! Voss isn't too shabby either. My general observation is that training under Dutch coaches and masters is very detailed and the students are highly motivated. I don't think its due to any natural advantage; efficient training and persistent motivation.

Vos prodused Champions like Lucia Rijkers, Hoost and Mousid
And coached many more So yeah they ain't too shabby I must say though that in K1 and MMA the dutch fighters make less lowkicks than what you would expect, which is one our best weapons
