Default Response to Muay Thai vs. Tae Kwon Do Poll

I get the feeling that many of the thread starters are beginners in the Martial Arts. The reason I say this is because this question get repeated over and over again, and its getting tired.IT IS NOT THE ART,IT IS THE INDIVIDUAL!!!
Dont think that just because you study Muay Thai,or any other art for that matter, that yours is the most supreme method in the world. For those that actually read about the great pioneers of the arts we love, they will quickly realize that this madness wasnt just invented when the Gracies arrived. Many of the arts were developed in times of civil war and disobedience,as well as a people trying not to be suppress by invaders. Therefore, they were for survival. We cant even imagine how it was for these great men and women who had to face tremendous odds to live each day in some sort of peace in their daily lives. For those who are beginning the arts and are reading this forum, dont be mislead by those who trash other methods or systems, they have no idea what the real reason of the arts are.If think that you are a supreme martial artist because of the method you study, heres a suggestion: Go to the most violent area where you live and brag about how good you are in Muay Thai(or any other art),and that you will whip any SOB that has the nerve to think you are full of s**t,and please report back to this forum, along with pictures of your encounter(take a friend to record this moment) and please report back to this board.Just because someone isnt interested in participating in the ring, doesnt make him or her any less of an practioner. Ive studied both Muay Thai(current),and ITF-TKD. Both have people that have no dedication to further themselves or the art and make each method look bad. In a contest of equals, its the one who can inflict the most damage the quickest! For those that like to keep on with these pointless threads,I sure hope that you never have to prove your worth in a fight with a hungry street savy attacker!! This aint Kansas,Dorothy!! Thugs these days carry weapons(many times a gun) to settle their business. So instead of trying to determine which art is the best, take some time to research the arts in general, you will find a treasure trove of knowledge and info that you never knew, and then you will come to understand that its not about which is the best, but how can you compare to those that spent their lives promoting the arts that they love(and the people that pratice them). Ive been active since 1974,Im now 45 years old,and plan to pass the love of all martial arts to my grandson,so that he can appreciate the beauty and power that can come from pratice of such a beautiful art form. And please, if nothing else of what I said isnt understood, remember,no style is greater than another,as you get older(more mature in the arts) you will realize this simple fact. Peace my brothers, and train hard for the unity of all arts....

Yeah,I know Damian.. Its hard to keep quiet when there is so much misinformation going on about the arts in general...I just look at myself as an ambassador for common sense... I wish you are having much success in Thailand,God Speed,my brother...
