Fist What do you think of Cung Le?

I have finally seen Cung Le in action, even though it was several year old footage. He is talented, but from what I have seen, unless he was not at 100%, or he did not take his opponent too seriously, he did not meet up to all of the hype that I have read of him. It was at the Battle at the Bellagio for K1 on ESPN 2 a few years ago.

Hand Strikes/Arm: 2
Leg Strikes/Knee: 3
Takedowns: 4
Control: 4

His takedowns were exceptional, but his other skills seemed to be lacking to me. I am not trying to say that he is not the real deal, but from his only performance, he did not live up to the hype. If there is any other footage of him, please tell me where I can find it.

I think he is a chump, they set him up with bums, and call them world champions.

I cant say. You'd have to see him pitted against someone in his weight class from China, like Liu Hai Long whom is supposed to be spectacular at the light heavyweight class. I think Cung Le issued a challenge to Liu, but haven't heard anything.

Cung Le beat Shonie Carter in a sanshou forum match. Shonie Carter is a good kickboxer from the US who's also fought in the UFC. I saw a clip of the fight. When you get taken down really hard and fast, it takes the wind out of you and Shonie got taken down. Cung's takedowns look great, but he goes mostly against kickboxers who don't have grappling experience (except the other great San Shou legends).
