Default Ajarn Tsai's Boxing Drill

Hi guys!
Hope you can help me with the boxing drill Ajarn Tsai does. I have seen it twice in the Train with the legends at the Inosanto Academy. But I could not pick up the whole thing. I hope you can break it down for me.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I have not gone to the "legends" seminar, so he may have shown something different there, but at all the rest of his seminars he always shows the 4 count bob-n-weave on the focus mitts. The only other times that are with pads are usually 2 thai pads and/or one thai pad and one focus mitt. So, are you are you referring to the bob-n-weave drill where he is holding for other students?

OH, btw, his name is spelled Chai, not Tsai. The Chai is short for Surachai.

If this is the drill you are talking about, reply back and then I will break it down for you, because he has added a couple steps to it recently.

Peace,

Default Focus mitt drill

Python,
Thanks for correcting me. My bad. It could be that drill where he holds the mitts for the student and goes thru slips and bob and weaves. Could you break it down for me. Thanks again.

Default 4 count bob n weave

Lakanpopot,

Hi, sorry for the delay in getting back to you...been really busy. Anyway, let me see if I can break it down.

Let's use the terms "feeder" and "hitter".....

Hitter throws Jab, Cross, Hook, Cross....feeder hooks with left.....hitter bob-n-weaves the hook to the right and comes back with a Cross, Hook....feeder then throws the Cross.....hitter bob-n-weaves the cross to the left and comes back with a Hook, Cross....hitter covers his body on right side...feeder throws low left shovel hook to hitter's right side.....hitter covers and comes back with a left uppercut, Cross.....feeder hooks with left....hitter bob-n-weaves to right again, and comes back with Cross, Hook....

The drill can be changed, shortened, or lengthened. You can add a body shot while doing the bob-n-weave. Ajarn Chai also does the "4 and out" in which when the hitter bob-n-weaves the feeder's Cross, he steps in and swings the back leg around then Hook and Cross(this simulates the hitter being backed into the corner and reversing the role, putting the feeder in the corner)

Ajarn Chai usually starts with just the jab to check the hitters shoulder, to see if it delays and stays up after throwing the jab(important) and then he works into the 4 count bob-n-weave and the 4 and out.

I hope this is understandable. Again, you can change different aspects to add more variety, but this is how Ajarn does it. I even added a shin cover(shield) and roundkick in the drill to give my fighters overall body work with the drill.

Good luck with it, again, I hope this helps!
