Last night I went in for what seemed like any normal night for training at my school. I noticed that the instructor and one of our top fighters were off doing something else but didn't pay attention. Next thing I know, this camera crew comes in the front door. One guy who speaks fluent English and Japanese, then 4 Japanese guys operating cameras, microphones, etc. The rest of us were like, "WTF?"

Found out later that the guys were from K-1 and were there to film one of our guys, Nick Gonzalez, in training as well as interview him. He had gone to the K-1 tryouts in Vegas awhile back and apparently they liked what they saw. I talked to the guy who was doing the interviewing and he said that they were going around and filming the select fighters that impressed the judges. The guy said we'd probably be on T.V. in Japan (too bad we'll never see it) since the rest of us were on camera (in the background, of course).

Hopefully Nick does get to fight in K-1 and does quite well. It would get our school on the map for sure. He's a good kickboxer and has records in boxing, kickboxing and MMA.

Wow... hard to believe that K-1 was actually at our little ol' gym in a ghetto-ish area in South Austin

Have they come by any of you guys' gyms yet? Obviously they have if you train with or are an actual K-1 fighter
