Hello Sir,
No it's nothing like Kali. it's like Thai boxing with swords! full power strikes and blocks immediately, in most cases swords immediatley. i realize there are schools of kali where they do the same but.. Krabi Krabong concentrates on developing some attacking counts with the defender backing up and blocking with each strike, the attacker quickly builds to full power strikes and the defender must answer with full power blocks all this happens with full speed footwork (see running sprints) it is a nice addition to kali, they have some great training drills, fantistic timing on thrusts, inserting crippling kicks in the middle of combos. still hard to find a good instructor, if your interested let me know i'll help locate one for you, only about 20 people outside of Thailand certified by the Buddai Suwan Institute to teach Krabi Krabong. harley |

Bau 13 - thai food? LOL!
Harley - I've got an instructor who's showing me what he calls Krabi Krabong, but we are using sticks so far. Don't know whether he's certified or whether what he's teaching is actually the real deal though. Oh well... |
