Also, small weights may be carried in your hand while shadowboxing. Light ankle weights may be worn while you practice your knees in a hotel or wherever. These don't have to be small dumbells, you could use a paperweight or hold some other object in your hand. Just pace yourself so you don't burn out and give up, or make yourself sore to the point of excusing yourself from training for more than a day.
