Who thinks he might actually do well? He's been training hard in his kicks for the past several months under some very good trainers, and already possesses some excellent boxing skills (which already puts him above a good half of the K-1 competitors w/o a boxing background). He's pretty tough too and might do well against most of those he goes against. Who thinks he'll do well and who thinks he'll stink?

who's he been training his 'kicks' with?
If he put his mind to it, and had a decent trainer, and put in the effort in training everyone else does in K1, I think he'd do very well If he turned up after learning a Thai low and front kick and dodgy stamina I think he'd get knocked out |

i think he will clean house of all but the top tier of fighters. a few months will not protect your legs from butchers like Remy, Ignashov and Hoost.

If Tyson trains even somewhat hard, comes into the ring with a fair respect for kicks and knees, and fights like he's hungry - he'll do well. On the other hand, if he comes to K-1 with the same slop he's been bringing to his boxing matches the last few years, he might win a fight or two before he starts getting beat consistently, at which point he'll quit. Third possibility is that K-1 tries to protect him for financial reasons. Then he could get some tomato can fights at first followed by some 'superfight' which will either make him or break him,

Consider this: If Tyson were capable of getting his act together, training hard and bringing some serious game to his fights, then why wouldn't he be doing that as a boxer?
I think this is the last episode of the Tyson Show. I hope that K-1 benefits from the exposure, but I'm not expecting much from the guy that used to be Iron Mike.

I have to concede, that is an interesting point. Nonetheless his last several fights have been, shall we say, somewhat below his proven potential.

The guy is scum they should not allow to fight any type of combat sports, his skills have declined and his best days are far behind him.
We don't need an idiot like that involved in muay thai, K-1, or mma the guy will break every rule in the book and is the most mentally unstable person in fighting sports. Tyson didn't have much boxing skills, though, he made up for that with his youth, quickness, and power when he first started. He was an inside fighter because of his short stature and short arms and didn't evolve beyond that and whenever it was time to fight a true boxer he always got outclassed. |

I think Tyson would be brillant in K! but he would have to train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Muay Thai Kickboxing. Maybe he could train with Carlos Machado & Master Chai.
I would love to see him beat everybody up in K1 then return to boxing & knock everybody out. Maybe the UFC & all MMA events is what Tyson needs. That would be one hell of a fighting spectacle. I think Tyson would do better than ali in MMA. Remember the Ali versus Antonio Inoki the Japanese Shoot Fighter. The match was a draw but ali ended up with a broken leg. |
