Default Weight Classes

Hey all, I've recently begun Muay Thai and I was wondering about weight classes... I am 5'7 (female) and a welterweight (almost a light one!), hoping to conditing myself down to either a lightweight or featherweight... I was hoping for some input about that, and also some general information about which weight classes are the best to get into, etc. Thanks in advance.!

Doing this from memory....

Go to WKAUSA.COM

Then click on FIGHTERS CORNER

Find RULES. It should list weight classes for males and females, amateur and pro.

Bear in mind that each fighting organizations weight classes vary a bit. You'll want to check the varying websites for:

USKBA
USMTA
WKA
ISKA
IKF

Those are the organizations that I've worked or fought with over the years....
