Rick Roufus vs Francois Botha in April!

I had heard that Rick Roufus was going to be doing a superfight at the K1 in April with Mighty Mo. Now I hear Mo is going to be in the tournament. Today I get the news that the fight in the works is Roufus vs. Botha. Having watched Francois's last few fights (Including his MMA fights) I have to give him credit. That being said, Rick is going to take him apart. This will be a good example of why Rick should be doing Superfights.

Roufus vs. Botha would not be an exciting fight. Rick would run and Botha would stalk, throwing heavy leather, with few clashes. Mo vs. Botha would be a better match-up, since they are both heavy hitters. As a K-1 fighter, Roufus does nothing for me (neither does Botha for that matter).
Another bad match-up is Akebono vs. Kakuda (who coming-out of retirement), which will take place in Korea next month. K-1 heavyweight fights of recent have been rather lackluster. I am looking forward more to the K-1 Max tournament and finals.

I also was under the impression Rick Roufas had retired. Do you suppose it is his brother Duke who is supposed to fight Botha?

That was my thought also, but I have no idea. Perhaps Rick couldn't keep away after all, even though he has damaged both his knees..

I am enrolled at Rick's Gym (roufus kickboxing center). I will ask him about the fight and get back to you guys.
