Default Going To Thailand Next Week!

I've made all my travel arrangements and will be arriving in Chiang Mai on 5 May. I will be training at Kru Pedro Villalobos' school there, and I hope to be there for at least two months.

Anybody in Chiang Mai at the moment?

Cheers,
Anthony

Hey man, 2 months in Chiang Mai? Well if you stop by Bangkok look me up, I can show you a couple of places to train you might like, or at the very least really good food to eat! I'm accumulating a list of the best places to eat here heh.

Damian I just returned form Thailand I was there for Songkran and had a blast. I never had a chance to train if even for one day when I was there. My teacher thinks I am crazy for not training when I was there on this past trip or when I lived there back in 2002. I am planning another trip this November. Once I am there do you think you could point me in the right direction of a school of a gym that I could train at? If I have another trip to Thailand and don't train I will feel the pain from my teacher.

Default Droooool...

Hey Damian,

I'm torn between what is the more powerful force drawing me to Thailand - the training or the food! I'll let you know when I'm in Bangkok.

Ray, ya next time you come to Bangkok look me up, even if you dont want to train. I was in Japan for Songkran so wouldnt have mattered this last trip heh.

Give me a call when you're in town Anthony, 079012033. We can go for dinner with my friends, I'll show you a tasty place depending on your interests (Thai, Italian, Indian, Western, Mexican). I know the best places for everything!

Default Update

It's great to be back in Thailand! I start training this weekend, at Lanna since Kru Pedro is over in China and won't be back until next month.

I'm not looking forward to waking up for the 6 a.m. runs though. The waking up is the problem, not the running (although I say that now...).

Default Damn, you guys are lucky!

I have wanted to go to Thailand for the past few years but, one, I can't afford the airfare, and two, I can't afford the time off. Man it sucks, the mecca of Muay Thai and I can't get there to experience it. You guys heard of people training there for just a week for the hell of it? That would be what I would have to do, given the circumstances. I work offshore and our company has alot of work out of Singapore, Thailand, and other places close by, but the work load here in the US oil industry prevents me from making some time over there.

Kick hard and cover!

You could train for a week for the heck of it, there were people who came out to Lanna for a few days on their vacations, but I'm sure you'll want more - I trained for two months and the time just flew by. If you're already in the region it won't be a problem, but if you fly out just for a week, you'll just be getting over the jet-lag and it will be time to go home.
