Default TBA Instructors ?

Hey I was wondering about chai's instructor program. Does he have certain things in his curriculam that every instructor most know and be able to teach or is it different ? Thinking of joing the TBA, but haven't fully decided. What are the benefits of joing the TBA as opposed to other organizations ?

From what i understand you get a discount on hotel rooms. You can go train at the fairtex gym in los angeles, and you can train at the Buddha Swan institute in thailand. thats all i know

Default I can't say it enough

I love the TBA. That's all I can say. I think the main benefit of being able to work with other TBA members is that it's the most friendly, family feeling organization I have ever worked with. Oh and their technical abilities are second to none.

The material is broken down into the smallest pieces and taught step by step with explanations about the hows and whys of hand placement, foot orientation, so on and so forth. If you have an opportunity to train with a TBA instructor, I'd definitely take advantage of it.

Again, the biggest attraction for me is how welcoming and family like the TBA is. I mean, people have litterally given me the running pants off their legs, they've shared their various areas of specialty with me, given advice, guidence etc.

I also like that there are TBA branches in nearly every state of the US. Whenever fight promoters call us and ask if our fighters want to fight in their shows, the first thing I do is think about who the TBA rep is in that state. Then I try and give them a call to see what they think about the promoter. That way we can avoid getting "set up" which isn't too uncommon of a thing.

We recently put together this clip: Best of Fighter Corps 2004

And although it doesn't necessarily feature all Muay Thai fights, every last punch, kick, knee or elbow thrown has been influenced if not built from the ground up by TBA instructor Khuen Khru Will Bernales and the people that he has introduced us to (Ajarn Surachai Sirisute, Khuen Khru Greg Nelson, Khuen Khru Leonard Trigg, Khuen Khru Jeff Jones, Khuen Khru Guro Dan Inosanto, Khuen Khru Nino Pilla, Khuen Khru Mike Walrath, Khuen Khru Bob Carver, Khuen Khru Mateo De Los Reyes, Khuen Khru Stacy Shank, Khuen Khru Rey Guin, and the list goes on and on)

So long story short (I know it's too late for that). Take the opportunity. You won't regret it.
