Default Muay Thai Question

Okay, I'm trying to get into Muay Thai but I'm having a hard time finding some place that I can train at, so my question is: I have a Netflix membership so could I get a training video for Muay Thai and start there or is that a bad idea? I'm not in the best shape right now, so I know I have to train hard before so should I just work on that and wait 'til I find a place to train?

Zapatista,

I'm Surprised you are having trouble finding a place in the Chicago area...there are quite a few gyms all around Chicago teaching Muay Thai. This coming weekend, the 9th and 10th is a seminar in Streamwood, Il. with Ajarn Chai Sirisute. I will be there. This would be a great chance for you to see what it is like and meet some of the area instructors and then get a better idea of where you could train. If you would like more info on this weekend give me an email: pete@progressiveselfdefense.com

Take care!

I've looked online and there are a few places that teach Muay Thai but they are all over an hour to drive to and I only work part-time and go to school full time so I don't have the money for gas to go 2 or 3 times a week. But I'll be emailing you with questions about this seminar.
