What percentage of training do you MT guys spend on your elbows/ knees training? Ive never trained in a real MT gym. It appears from an outsiders point of view that most the time is spent kicking/ punching?

The guys I train with are really good in the clinch, hence we work a lot of knees and elbows since they are useful in controlling an opponent in the clinch and keeping him there. Personally, during bag work and shadowboxing, I will devote an equal number of rounds for each weapon, whether it be punches, kicks, knees, and elbows. I like to keep well rounded with all these rounds, but if I need work on a specific strike, I would spend a few more rounds working on that,
Hope this helps

Monday in class we had to go back and forth across the dojo 5 times throwing knees, then we worked on the clinch applying knees & low kicks. I love knees and elbows, which is why I started MT.
