I have only had leather heavy bags and still think they are the best hands down. The problem is I have been looking for a 5' HB for years and years. Well fairtex now has a 5'
I am so happy! I don't like the camo but who cares it 5' perfect size for a MT HB in my opinion. The problem it's not leather. WTF. It says it's made from a nylon outer shell with laminated PU lining and non-tearing industrail nylon lining for durability. http://www.fairtexgear.com/html_docu...m.asp?p_id=219 I know what Vinyl, Leather, and Canvas look and feel like. But what does nylon look and feel like? Is it smooth like Vinyl/Leather? Is it rough like canvas? Thanks for the help. BTW does anyone know of a leather 5' HB?

nylon is a general name for a type of condensation polymer. put very broadly it is a plastic. alternatively it is the result of polymerising diaminoalkane (amine groups on first and last carbon) with a dicarboxylic acid. In most cases you get a large amount of carbon-hydrogen chain broen up by -NHCO- bonding between monomers.
from a more useful point of view, nylon in a punch bag shouldnt tear. It is far more likely to be smooth than be more like canvas. it will look like whatever colours they decided on, should most closely resemble a vinyl bag since vinyl is polychloroethene, a polymer vaguely simlar to nylons. keep the bag away from fire... no idea if any of the above is useful, but i made an effort at least

www.combatsports.com sell Windy gear which is better than Fairtex IMO
This is the most common bag in the camps in Thailand. They sell a traditional 5ft Thai bag |

I own two 4' bags and a 6' bag. I am only looking for a 5' nothing else. The windy bag is a 4' bag unless ringside got it wrong and it really is a 5'(60") HB. If you know of any 5' HB please post. Thanks for the help. |
