I think you can learn some basic simple techniques from a video. But thats just it if you havent trained with an instructor.
muay Thai is very hard pyhsical sport. To be able to push youreself that hard in the begining only by yourself is really hard.
When your by yourself it is easy espcily in the eginning when you havent trained muay thai with an instructor. To think that you have done enough pyshical workout. As push ups and running and all that. You say: wow I mange to run 3 km thats awsome I am a good mauy thai fighter. But it just isent enogh. So whene you traine with an instructor and get a feel for all of this. You know more what to do and what you shuld be able to do.

And as mentioned above. A sparring partner. Someone to do technuiqes with. Chlinch traingin.
All that you need another person. And he \ she shuld allsow be somewhat good in the art of muay thai.
