hey i am a 15 year old boxer who has been boxing for about a year and a half and for bad circumstances i will switching to muay thai. I always wanted to try Muay Thai and saw it as the next step up in making me a complete fighter. What exctually will I be doing? and is it what people use in UFC? Do I get to fight or just train, I want to compete. My legs are not flexible at all will this increase my flexability? Just some information about Muay Thai would be a great help thank

Muay thai is one of the main martial arts used in the ufc, but the best fighters are trained in more than just muay thai. Here is an example on the the last ufc fight night live on spike, there was a guy named kit cope. And if you don't know who that is. He is pretty much the best muay thai fighter in the world, but he lost his fight in the ufc. he lost to a brazilain jiu jitsu black belt. He just to the fight to the ground and kit didn't stand a chase. If u want to compete in the ufc I must suggest u cross train in alot of arts. So no matter where the fight goes u can handle it. Me myself I train in muay thai and boxing for my stand up and i also train in gracie jui jitsu for grappling and subbmissions and freeestyle wrestling for takedowns. If u want to compete in the ufc I would cross train in a couple of things.

I would have to agree with the above remark. Muay Thai and boxing are best for stand up game. BJJ and wrestling good for the grappling. Take these and you should be happy. In Muay Thai you will become a complete striker. You will use everything from your fists, feet to your knees and elbows. I think you shouldn't just quit boxing but cross train. The boxing really helps with the punching power.
