    Gauze wraps/group buy/ridiculous shipping

I just tried to purchase 6 rolls of super gauze handwraps from Ringside boxing (the 3-layer kind that's 15 yards long and reusable). The price was alright and the quoted shipping was $8 US. After a week and a half of waiting I called them to see what the hell was holding them up because they were supposed to be shipped via UPS. I was told that the shipping to Canada is "a little more", and after waiting for 10 minutes I was told that the shipping would be an ADDITIONAL $17.85 US for ground shipping (6-8 weeks) OR I could take option 2 which is $48.60 for UPS shipping and I would have to pay whatever duties would incur at the border.

Is it just me, or is that absolutely retarded? 6 rolls of gauze weighs about 1.5 lbs TOPS and the package shouldn't be more than 8"x8". Why the hell would it cost over $30 US to ship to anywhere in North America??

Either way, I still really want these wraps and I know alot of other people want to get their hands on them, so I was wondering if it would be possible to organize a group buy for these? I could order them and when they arrive I could ship them all out to everybody involved (it would take a little longer but would be MUCH cheaper...wholesale discounts and such) OR conversely, if somebody out there has a business that can order the same wraps (3-layer gauze, 15 yards long) I would be happy to take some of them off your hands

OR if somebody in the USA could order them for me and ship them to me, even that would be cheaper. A group buy would still be the cheapest! Let me know guys

    Hey Man,

I ordered from Ringside and purchased the Ringside Mexican Handwraps. I did it via their website, and also ordered a tonne of other stuff from them at the same time (i.e. Ringside Super Bag Gloves which are AWESOME, some shirts, Cleto Reyes Fight Gloves, etc.). I did shipping via UPS for like $60 for my orders valued at over $200US and UPS added the customs charge already for $30 more. Customs will rape u if you get it shipped normally - i.e. last time I did that, they charged me at my door when it got there - i had no cash on me, just plastic cards, so they had to bring it to the post office and i had to pay there. So, IMHO, just go UPS.

To top it off, i got my order within TWO DAYS after ordering! SO DAMN FAST!

For your case, I would say that it's not worth it to order just a small amount cuz they'll charge you a lot for customs + shipping for such a small amount. Save up and get some other stuff like those super bag gloves or the Cleto Reyes stuff

Well I caved and just went with the 10-yard stuff from Title boxing. For 5 less yards per roll I saved $37 US over Ringside boxing. I also found a cool company called Rival boxing in Montreal that has the most badass sparring gloves I've ever seen. Check them out:

Anyways I'm still really interested in a group buy OR if somebody living in America could order them and ship them to me that would still be alot cheaper. Let me know, guys!

Yeah they use some kind of ErgoLace system that's supposed to eliminate lace burn and tighten up your wrist and all kinds of things. I haven't seen them up close but I'd love to get my hands on a pair.
