March 11, 2006 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
H2H APOCALYPSE - International Muay Thai Event!! The Calgary Amateur Kickboxing & Muay Thai Association presents: Canada vs. the World in preparation for the IFMA World's. CANADA battles JAPAN, THAILAND, GERMANY, CZECH REPUBLIC, SCOTLAND and the USA! Canada's Top Muay Thai talent prepares for the upcoming IFMA World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand (featuring participation by 100 countries) by hosting the last fight event in Calgary before this prestigious event in May/June 2006. FIGHT CARD Calgary's Jesse 'Smiles' Miles taking on Amir Tarmized (Germany) for an Intercontinental Muay Thai Title (full rules). This is Jesse's first go at a title shot in his hometown of Calgary. Following the footsteps of Mike Miles, Jesse blazes a path of his own. "I want to win this title at home and then I want to bring back the IFMA World Title for all my family, friends, and peers. I won Silver in 2004 and this year it will be GOLD! Let's get it on!", says Miles. Professional Trevor 'T.N.T.' Smandych takes on Naoto Seki (Japan) in a 5 round full Muay Thai rules match. Seki is an accomplished Muay Thai athlete having beaten some well known athletes from Thailand and has also competed in Mixed Martial Arts. "I have wanted this fight for quite some time", says Smandych, "and it has come true. Time to rumble!" Calgary's Scott 'Pitbull' Clark takes on Jan Majorzky (Czech Republic). Two very aggressive fighters both wanting the victory as they look forward to the 2006 IFMA World Championships. "I intend to win this bout and then I will come home with the World Title from Thailand this year", says Clark. This will be an epic battle. The under card features Canadian athletes against athletes from Thailand (2 women's bouts), Scotland, and the USA. The event will be rounded out with a CMTC-A Canadian Title bout. This event is being filmed for television for broadcast in 2006. H2H Heat -APOCALYPSE International Muay Thai Event The Calgary Amateur Kickboxing and Muay Thai Association are proud to present "H2H Heat - APOCALPSE !" An absolutely unprecendented international line up!! Japan, Germany, Czech Republic, Thailand, USA, Scotland...they will all touch down in Canada April 8th to do battle with Canada's best at APOCALYPSE!! Calgary's Misty Sutherland takes on the highly ranked Borpit Kinrum at 125 lbs. Sutherland has been on a rapid rise to the top with major wins including a Gold Medal at the 2005 WKA World Championships in Niagara Falls in November 2005 and the IKF North American Lightweight Muay Thai Title in Orlando in August 2005. Will Sutherland's aggressive style be able to score on the elusive and fast kicking Borpit? Calgary's ultra tough and hard hitting Sandra Bastian steps up to the plate and squares off with Wirun Fongnom at 136 lbs. Bastian who has extreme difficulty finding anyone in North America who will fight her at her weight (132 lbs.) now is tested by taking on Wirun. The Thai girl is looked upon in Thailand with pride and very respect. Will Bastian be able to deal with the long range kicks and the strong clinch work of the Thai? Thailand has the best athletes in the world... will the Canadian girls be able to stand up to the strength, skill, and determination of the Thai ladies?
