Hey guys, so I was told by our very own skilled, talented, intelegent, and all around good guy Khru Chalabok (heh, yes Sir, I know your name, I just didn't know if putting it on posts was to your liking. No disrespect intended in any way
) that I may wish to get things solid for travel with the help of our great big cuddly family. (that may possibly have been a run on sentance) I personally need to be at the Amtrack in Portland by about 2:00pm {Edit: or, upon further inspection, Salem Amtrak by 3:00pm} on August 1st, but 2 is when the bus leaves camp for Salem, and it doesn't go to the train station. So I thought perhaps, if one of you lovely ladies or gentlemen were headed from camp at a feasable time, I could give you some gas money, bring a map or directions or something and we could swing by the train station on our way through. Of course this only works if people already know they're renting a car, and about when they're leaving camp.Looking forward to hearing from everyone, and feel free to use this thread to coordinate your own travel plans with everyone one the internet.

I am scheduled to arrive in Portland on Thur. 27th at 4:10pm
and to leave Portland on Tues. 1st at 9:50 pm. I plan on renting a car, so if someone is in need of transportation around those times, let me know and we'll try to work something out. If I dont respond right away, I'm not ignoring you. My schedule is just a bit hectic at the moment. Thanks! |

Master Chai just this past weekend asked me to keep this thread active, and to urge everyone coming to the camp to help each other.

Thanks Sir!
As it turns out, there's a tentative plan for us to drive out to camp. So I wouldn't need a ride to the train station, but there may be room for someone coming from MN in our car, if they can help with gas etc...and don't mind dealing with us half way across the country.

People who need to rent a hotel, or plan to stay in Stayton should contact Dan Burke or the relevant hotel by the end of June. They are holding 8 rooms for us but will stop at the end of the month. Ajarn Chai just this morning asked me to remind everyone.

I am scheduled to leave Portland at 7pm on the 1st. I'd happily help with expenses for the trip back to the airport. I'd like to stick around to get the certificate. Google maps tells me it is 1h45m back to the airport that would leave us plenty of time I believe. I am not landing in Portland until something like 8:30 PM on Thursday or I'd beg for ride to camp too.

So my next obvious post has to be:
Is anyone else landing in Portland around 8:30 PM on Thursday the 27th that may have space for a wayward traveller willing to split expenses to get to camp? Thanks,

Yep, Considering the 8:30 local time in Oregon will be 12:30AM Friday morning in my time zone. Sleeping on the plane has never been a problem for me, and travelling west is usually ok. Heading home always jetlags me.
