30 is not too old, however you have to appreciate that you are not starting young.

Most young kids are overly infusiastic, they lift alot of weights with bad technique & train whilst injured. All this they pay for later in life with various aches and pains.

Assuming you have taken care of yourself you should be able to get a few good years in after a few years of training. Listen to your body and do not over train etc.

27 too old to compete in the ring most of the world champions in most combat arts are over 25. I was forced to stop training and fighting at 28 for medical reasons and I'm still a youngster a far as fighitng goes. Fighting untill 35 Or fourty shoudl not be a problem for you and plus you don't have all the wear and tear on you someone who started fighting at 18 or 20 does so don't let "age" stop you.
