do you think they should teach more discipline in kick boxing and muay thai or thai boxing? i am getting really pissed off when people who train in muay thai say that muay thai is better than so and so and etc.

Muaythai has plenty of discipline. Go 10 x 3:00 rounds of anything in muaythai(pad work, sparring or a mix of both) all out and if you're not laying on the canvas, you're a pro! To come back to this every other day or so for longer than 3 months takes discipline. A year (and that's somethin' else).
Muaythai fighters are some of the best stand-up, empty handed fighters in the MA world because they focus on fighting. Other martial arts focus on the development of the individual, which includes self-defense but thaiboxers spend more time fighting. However, I've seen fighters from alot of different styles who could go professional if they chose.
Hope this didn't come across the wrong way, Plasmashock. There's nothing wrong with other MA styles. Some muaythai coaches even recommend cross-training in other styles just to see what's out there.
I agree ith VG. I find that people who express their opinion out loud are mostly people who are new to the martial art and have been training intensively for less than a year. Most who have trained to a certain level of proficiency will not boast except for promotional commercials.
All 3 of you guys nailed it....
But it isn't just MT. Look around. Almost ALL n00b5 are guilty of the same behaviour! We all went through a phase where we were convinced that we were learning the most deadly fighting art in existance. I went through that phase multiple times (Karate, Ninjutsu, then MuayThai). But after you've REALLY trained for awhile, you gain perspective.
In my own experience, I've noted that the more and more that I fought, the less and less important or significant it was. Heck, I won 3 titles, but by the time I won my 3rd title and was gunning for my 4th (which ended up falling through), it really was no longer about wins, losses, or shiny trinkets (medals, trophies, belts)... It was simply about getting in the ring and banging!

i realized that its not the style that teaches discipline. it is infact the teacher. sorry for any confusion or flaming this may have caused.
