I think just having the bag free hanging you'll do fine. It takes alot of torque to make a Thai-Bag swing. Unless you're kicking like Former Dallas Cowboy Randy White who still remains to have the strongest kick to date according to Ajarn Chai, you'll be fine. Have fun.

I've seen heavy bags up to 300lbs on boxing websites. I just bought a really nice heavy bay stand made of heavy duty cast iron steel. The reg price is $199.00 I caught it on sale for $89.99 at dicks. If you don't have a dicks in your area, shop online. Prior to that, I hung my heavy bags from the basement ceiling.

I plan to kick the hell out of the bag, and I don't want a heavy bag I want a thai baig. Iron stand + kick = cast on leg.
