Default Nongkee Pahuyuth

Just a brief thread to mention this gym
Ive just spent a couple of days at Nongkee Pahayuth courtesy of a friend of mine who is an ex champ from this gym.

This gym is pretty famous and situated about 4-5 hours drive from bangkok. Top quality trainers and padmen and just about the friendliest town i have ever been to. I stayed at my friends house there and spent a couple of brief days at the gym and watched a thai boxing tournament nearby where an S1 title was up for grabs and was won by a nongkee fighter.

A really excellent gym and possibly in contention for the best gym i have trained at. Dont be put off by its distance from bangkok, this gym fights in Ratchadamneon and Lumpini at the highest level and has produced many champions. I highly recommend this gym if you going to thailand and looking for somewhere to train.
Only warning is dont go if you want any nightlife, its bed early there and nothing happens after 8pm.

thats all.

Good shout Ghost,

A good friend of mine learnt most of what he knows about clinch etc from Nongkee camp,he went there a long time ago when Namphon was boxing,he went back and forward for many years and named his camp in the UK after Nongkee Phayuth (now changed to Dean White gym).

Nongkee district is considered the hub of Esaan (north eastern) muaythai, and Nongkee Pahuyuth (spelling) is at the front. I believe that the owner is now more involved with politics. Nevertheless, Nongkee would be a good destination for some one wanting to train muaythai.

Not sure how active he is in politics but he was fully active at the gym, overseeing everything and spent some time talking to me about the gym and the area.
Im sure he has plenty of time, he even invited me for food with him which i accepted.

Food is really spicy there.!
