Hi All
I'm probably intermediate level in Muay Thai and will be in Bangkok for business for only a few days and wanted to get in a private lesson somewhere. Can anyone recommend a place for a private lesson to go over aspects of my game rather than just hitting pads for rounds? I emailed Fairtex and it seems all I'll be doing is conditioning and 5 rounds on thai pads then 3-4 rounds on the heavy bag for 1000 baht - which honestly I can do at home. I've seen Jitti's gym come up a bit in posts - will they tailor a private lesson to what I want? thanks |

Training at Jitti would be similar, but the facility is not as nice as at Fairtex. However, it's cheaper to commute to Jitti from your hotel in Bangkok. Jitti is right next to a subway station. Going to Fairtex will cost plenty by taxi, and each trip will take so long, you'd be better off hanging around till your afternoon session. Fairtex is better taken as live-in (full board) training package. Since you're only in Bangkok for a few days, Jitti would be a better option. BTW I train at Fairtex, but only for morning session. I have my own car so I don't have to put up with office hour traffic. I've also trained with Kru Jitti when he was teaching just a stone throw from my house, on Sunday, which Fairtex do no train. Once you train at good camp in Thailand, you'll be hooked. |

If you're looking for value, quality vs /price, then FBT would be a good choice. FBT has a big store on Ramkhamhaeng Road, Huamark. Lots of selection. For gloves though, Fairtex is very good, but Twins is also a good buy.

Thanks again sportsmuaythai. I'm looking for the big name brands like Fairtex, Twins etc... but hopefully at a cheaper price than in Australia. Last time I was in Thailand 5 yrs ago I found the shop at Rhad....(sp?) stadium cheapish...
I'll try and find the FBT store - where abouts is Huamark in relation to Siom? |

Hi,
I am taking private one-on-one lessons at Chacrit Muay Thai Gym and I can very much recommend it! Kru Chakrit is a great teacher and a very amiable guy, the location is smack in the center of Bangkok on Washington Square, Sukhumvit Soi 22. A 5 minute walk to Emporium Mall or Asoke BTS station. Pricing is very affordable and you don't need to book in advance. He also help arrange local promoters for his foreign students, arrange 1-year student visas, have homestay deals and other stuff. I think he has a website up with more information, I will check and post it later. Good Luck! Traste |
