![]() | So if i took 6 months of boxing, and then jumped into muay thai, would i have an advantage knowing how to box against someone whose starting muay thai fresh? yes, but the hands in muay thai are not the only weapons therefore the hands (boxing) are used to set up the kicks, knees, elbows and clinch. you would have an advantage but you would still need the time and practice to be able to flow nicely from your hand to legs ect. |

![]() | dont assume that you will just "jump" in the ring for a Mauy Thai fight. I have done both and both are completly different. If you want to do MMA, take Mauy lessons and something like BJJ. Currently i am doing Siam Kickboxing and Budo-Jitsu. I am in training to compete in both thai and mma. Take your time and learn all you can. thats the best thing to do. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | A good pair of hands will benifit you in the Muay Thai ring but be aware the stance is different, the guard is different, the ranges are different, its much harder to use your hands effectively in the Muay Thai ring. |
