Default Any advice would be greatly appreciated

All,

I fly to Thailand in just over a week's time to train at Pinyo Muay Thai on Koh Samui (Storm Ketsana allowing!) I am very much looking forward to my first experience of training in Thailand.

There are some very experienced people on here who I respect, and I would be very grateful if you had any final words of advice you could offer me for this trip. My friend Fire Cobra has already outlined some wonderful tips, if he or anyone else could offer their pearls of wisdom I would really appreciate it.

My preparation has basically consisted of trying to be in the best shape that I can be. Running, lots of bag work, lots of pad work, and lots of muscular endurance. I've also put on some mass to prepare for the heat, dehydration and possible weight loss.

If anyone has any final thoughts on training tips, conduct, culture, do's and don'ts, food, leisure I would be extremely grateful.

Sincere thanks

Michael

If you want great cardio, run stairs/stadiums!!!! Stay off the bleachers and stick to running on the actual steps and you'll have crazy cardio in no time. Have fun!

Good luck. I think you are in for the beginnings of a wonderful journey. stay focused, keep an open mind and come prepared to work and you will be fine. Do the preparatory work to be in good cardio shape really helps you jump start your training here other than that the trainers will help you get to where you want to go.

Default Culture

Maybe pick up a tourist language guide to Thailand to help with some useful phrases. Just in case everyone doesn't speak english.

Many thanks gentlemen, all good suggestions.

Here is the daily program:
Pinyo Muay Thai Gym, Koh Samui Thailand.

The staff have been very helpful and friendly in answering my questions before I go out. George, much like you summed up, their simple response was "just be in the best shape you can be when you get here, and we'll do the rest".

The links and suggestions about the culture are also greatly appreciated, any more thoughts please feel free, and thanks again.
