Question amazing explding leg

Has anyone ever heard of someone's leg breaking like the infamous video while doing Thai training? I am considering Thaiboxing classes, and just wondered. It's certainly the only instance of such a thing happening that I can find.

Cool

Got a link to the video? I don't think I've seen that one.

Anyhow, I suppose it is possible that such a thing could happen. Probably not that common of an occurance.

While I was working out at one Muay Thai gym, I heard the instructor talking about another gym that just set up its own Muay Thai program. They filled all their heavy bags with sand. The first person that tried to kick the bag broke her leg. I imagine what happened to her leg might have been similar to what was shown on that video.

It was a SICK video dude. Almost made me forget about using the thai kick altogether!

Yeah I saw that video too and it really did make me think twice about Thai kicking things afterwards. But I came to the conclusion that the guy must have had a fracture or something already because for it to snap clean off like that doesn't seem possible on a normal conditioned shin.

Plus the guy he kicked didn't even flinch. Gnnnnngh, it makes me shudder when I think about it.

Hmm, I've just realised that the last post on this thread was made two months ago. Oh well, not to worry...

Yes I know someone who the same thing happened to. He was told he could never fight again but was able to return to the ring and turned pro afterwards. The main reason is that yes if you crack shin on shin especially if you hit low high on their shin it can break and the one kicking is going to get the break the one checking is going to do the breaking. If you noticed the kicker led in with the kick no punches or feints just a big whopping Thai kick. The real idea here is to crack that big whoppin Thai kick right on their upper thigh muscle not their shin bone. So don't lead in w/big whoppin thai kicks. Feint, punch, teep do something to get their weight planted first so they cant or won't have time to check it. Good Luck!
