Default My First Time Continues

After I had been taking Niiyama Bujutsu for a number of years my teacher advised me to begin cross-training, and to take in some seminars when I could. Accordingly I started in Seattle at a Dan Inosanto seminar hosted by Cliff Lenderman. Sometime in the afternoon of the first day Mr Inosanto started talking about his friend Chai and how he stood. Oh my gosh, it was Thai Boxing! I had been searching (I thought) for muay Thai for almost 11 years and now it was being demonstrated for me by one of the world's premier martial artists. For some reason Cliff Lenderman had taken a liking to me, and at dinner that night he sat me across from Mr Inosanto. Well, he's kind of shy and I'm kind of shy so we didn't talk a lot, but I finally got up enough guts to tell him my story about My First Time, and how much I loved what I had seen. He just sat quietly, nodded his head a bit, then said "Excuse me," and left the table and walked over to a pay phone that was in the entryway. Oh well, I thought, he doesn't know me from Adam anyway, what did you expect Steve? and went on with my dinner. A few minutes later he came back to the table, sat down, and said to me "I have just called my friend Master Chai and he will be coming up here to do a muay Thai seminar in March." Then he proceeded to tell Cliff to get ready to host Master Chai in the Northwest's first Thai Boxing seminar. To reiterate a thing I said in My First Time, life CAN turn upon the smallest of moments, or maybe I just have a serendipitous life. Thanks again to Ajarns Dan & Chai
