Default I only need 1 correct simple answer

When you first enter a Thai Gym, as a beginner, do you learn the Thai Roundhouse kicks, including low Roundhouse kicks? Or is it in the advanced classes ?

That should be one of the first things that they teach you. I don't know why they would wait to teach you something that could easily be thought of as a basic technique.

Default Damn :P

This sucks, I am not aware of any Thai gyms around my area, but this one I`m in is not a Thai Gym and I`ve been here for like 3 months and they didn`t teach me anything about Thai Kicks. Mostly in the basics I`ve been learning Knees and Elbows. And a jab.

I don't know where in Canada you are, but someone on this board may be able to get you in touch with Kru Bob Carver and he may know someone in your area who teaches true Muay Thai.

Here is a link for you to check out: http://lannamuaythai.com/
It may answer some of your questions. You still need to find a good instructor. If you contact the administrator of this website, he should be able to put you in touch with Kru Bob Carver and Kru Carver should be able to tell you if there is an instructor in your area. Best of luck!

I would think that any respectable Thai boxing gym will have you kicking the bags at any level on the bag from day 1. On my 2nd day in a Thai boxing gym i asked my trainer how to know when you have learned the kick properly and he said as soon as you have done it 1 million times then you will have a good kick, so start counting. In the beginning there is a need for the repitition and counting how many kicks you have done. I think to start out from day one with a minimum of 300 to 500 kicks per leg is a hell of a start. It may hurt for a while but you will get the motion in your hips going and your shins will get conditioned quiclky.
