Default Full Body Conditioning

I am noticing that there are a bunch of "conditioning" threads here. Does anyone else but me kick or punch or knee or elbow a bag? I know that may sound sarcastic but geeze, a thai bag should be everything you need. If its not hard enough, add more filling, followed by small amounts of sand. Whats next? A testicle conditioning thread? C'mon guys help me out here

Agreed.

You want to condition yourself, get a bag stuffed untill it's about to burst with sand or rice.

End of story.

(I know, I know...it hurts! Is there another way? No! Shut up and hit the bag full power. Can't take the pain? Then take Karate. This is Muay Thai. You are being trained to be one of the world's most feared fighters. Why are we so feared? Kick that sand bag 500 times full power with each leg as a warmup and you'll see. Now hit the bag full power, and we'll see if you're still talking about how to condition your body in 6 months.)

On a side note. True Story.

I do train on a sand bag. My body is conditioned.

In my last fight my opponent tried to kick me and I raised my shin up...and our shins collided. You know what happened? His shin fractured. Didn't break like that video we've all seen. I, however, didn't feel a thing. So kick that sand bag.

Well, I have a bag and I am not sure what it is filled with, but I think it is some sort or fiber stuff. The way Tim told me to train on the bag is by doing rounds. Warmups: jump rope 2minutes, work your punches and kicks, and knees for 6 minutes Rnd 1: punches and elbows Rnd2: kicks and knees Rnd 3 and 4: all out, everything Rnd 5: shadowboxing

each round should be 3-5 minutes with 1 minute rest.

I agree about working by rounds however try this....only do 30 second breaks in between rounds, and during that 30 seconds, do pushups. This is a good way to condition yourself.

I will try that 30 second rest. By the way where did you guys purchase your clock timers? I ended up going the cheap route and buying a cooking timer.

jcolvin, you can buy them from RINGSIDE.COM but be prepared to pay a pretty penny for them. If memory serves i paid about 100 bucks for mine, but it was well worth it, its completely automatic and totally accurate. Hope that helps

Also, as a closer of your heavy bag routine you may want to do 1 kick each side as fast as you can

SERIOUSLY I THOUGHT THE FORUM WAS Q AND A I HONESTLY CANNOT AFFORD TAKING CLASSES BUT I STILL HIT THE BAG WITH 110%!!!!!!! YOU DON'T START WITH KNOWLEDGE YOU LEARN FROM THE WISER AND THE WISER SHOULD BE HAPPY TO SHARE IT! MUAY THAI 4 LIFE! ( EVERY ONE ELSE ENDS THEIR REPLYS WITH SOETHING COOL)

I did a quick search on this.

LoL would you ever wear a groin protector out on the streets when your out with your friends, just in case. LMAO wouldn`t that make your groin/thigh area a little puffy?
