Don't let anybody lie to you and say knuckle push ups strengthen your wrists. What they do is help deaden the nerves and strebgthen your hand muscles. If you really want to strengthen your wrist for punching go here.

Nice info, don't know if it's really functional, but nevertheless a good read. So tell me, have you personally tried this training method? There's other ways of training your wrists you know, I have never done "Iron Cross" push ups but my wrists are really strong and they never buckle when I punch a heavy bag or other people. And just because that dude can do those push ups doesnt mean squat about how good a fighter he is. Not criticizing anyone, just my personal opinion.

Yes I do train with the iron crosses. My wrist don't buckle either, but I bet you can't do 1 iron cross push up. I bet your master or trainer or however you train under can't do it either. It sounds like a lot of shit, but the fact is if you haven't heard of this then neither have they. Try it!!!!! There are other ways of training your wrist, but this is the BEST. You won't need another way this is the BEST. Your a dumbass ain't nobody talkin about how good anybody can fight, we're talkin about wrist alignment and wrist strength. Go **** sumthin and get rid of the testosterone. ![]()

i got goats back on this one those iron cross pushup's are hard ass hell i can only get like 3 inches of the ground!!!!!!!! I don't care how hard you are if you're a bad mother than theses will make you even better......besides you can be an excellent fighter all the way up until your wrist folds and your done but the guy you were fighting feels different! never the less bad or not this will improve your game

Jeez, I`ve been doing knuckle pushups... But can you guys post here or PM me on types of pushups ? And what will actually help with what ? I heard that diamond shape pushups helps for more "burst" or something. I really need helpful info! I can`t fight, never been in a real fight, never been in a fight, AT ALL. But really, I just train for fun, and test stuff, mabye it is pointless but.. you know. It's like playing a game, 'Kill these for more experience and level up!" ROFL.... Oh, and maybe for the better body appearance

mate these pressups are a piece of piss!!!
we call them bar-pressups where i come from and iv'e been doing them for years..ha ha ha they used them a lot in a local wingchun? kungfu class why didnt you tell me in the other thread that this is what you where talking about, but you didnt give me a chance to go into detail about wrist strenthening, i still only use this as part of my strenthening excersise curcuit because it takes a long long time to do them properlly ( i can now do them at full extention) hope i came across alright & would like to hear what tech's you found work well in crowded areas fthaimike@hotmail.com http://www.theapproachingstorm.com/t.../knockout1.wmv Last edited by retired; 03-21-2003 at 08:04 AM. |

I second that. How rude of goatnipples.
If anyone has some more information on wrist-strengthening please feel free to post it or start a new thread. I would be VERY interested in it. I concentrated so much on increasing my punching power that I neglected my wrist strength, so now they buckle every once in a while. I would welcome some tips. And Goatnipples...where can I get some of your iron crosses? Or should I just make them myself?

CRY ME A RIVER I will vouch for MR. NIPPLES he is not a little computer geek, Even though I don't know you I will be almost cetain in saying you wouldn't say it to his face! I am no dick rider but train with him daily and know his capabilities. You are right though he does get a little touchy but he researches what he talks about and as you mentioned he does think before he opens his goat mouth and that's why he goes in those tantrums cuz no one believes him! why do you have to be Mr MIyagi for your advice to be sound! Also he did like 2-3 in prison not that that makes him cool or anything it's just he thinks everythings a confrontation. Be kind a you may gain some knowledge |

you can buy all the pieces you need from a hardwhere store. I was informed by goat not to tell anyone how to make them becuz it put's you guys one up. So i can't ,but it took him five minutes to figure it out.It's in this thread or in the boxing forum but it show a guy using them, i'm pretty sure you could figure it out

You called the iron cross push ups piss. What am I supposed to do say okay and accept being put down, hell naw, you got me liuke ****ed up. The iron crosses are the best wrist exercise I have found so far.
I only speak on experience so I don't say what I think only what I know and I know what works and what will get you killed. You may have been asking me a Q but thge way you asked I took it as shit talkin, which you did. First off I don't practice any specific art I train for urban street defense. What the hell is "combat sport". COMBAT AND SPORT DO NOT BELONG IN THE SAME SENTENCE. In combat people lose lives or take some, in sport fighting they play pattsy cake. I train for the streets, it's the only place that fighting matters. If your art can't get you hOme to kiss your loved ones then WHY THE HELL PRACTICE IT. WHY DEDICATE YOUR LIFE TO IT UNLESS IT WILL KEEP YOU FROM LOSING YOUR LIFE. Yes I'm an asshole, but I'm an asshole that has experience, knowledge, and more than enough heart to lone the lion.

You need "all thread" and some "T" couplings to screw them into.
It should be self explanatory when looking at these items how to make it. If you can't figure it out then you don't want it bad enough. Good luck. If I can figure it out in 5 minutes then you should be able to do it in 2.5 minutes. ![]()
