I've never done MT before, but after reading this forum, it sounds really amazing, and I want to get started up as soon as possible...
I live in Thornhill, and I'm looking for some good places that arn't downtown (because that's to much of a mission to get all the way down there), so if any of you train in the Toronto area, and know some good places, please share ![]() Thanks guys -Azzazzin

If you can't find Thai, give Systema a try. I don't know about it personally, but you could let the forum know what you think about it. I've heard more good things than bad about it, and Vlad Vasilev is evidently a very solid instructor.

Thank you, both of you...
Actually, that was exactly what Kingston msgd me about, nice little coincident. This guy must be good. I remember hearing about Russian Martial Arts a long time ago, and heard it was very good. I think I will try it and I will tell you guys how it is. Kingston, have you been to this place before? And one more question: do you think it would be bad to do two martial arts? Like incorporate MT into Russian Martial Arts (always wanted to do MT). Thanks -Azzazzin

lol ya, accualy i do practice russian martial arts. Its a nice place, everyone is friendly.
Its not a problem doing both MT and Systema. Its great to get people who have previous experienec in other arts, it helps to enrich to practices i think. New people aren't always ready to hit and punch, or get hit and punched. I think it would be easyer to jump right in. Systema is very different to MT though. From my impression they are pretty much exact oposites. Not that one is better then the other. But Systema has that old cliche "in the ring you win, in the streets you survive". It has a different way of doing things as well. Most people seem to realy like it. Its hard for me to get into how/why MT is different from systema, without making it seem that im bashing other arts lol. Basicaly there is no reason you cant do both. If you have the time to spend on both. Yes the MT can be incorporated in Systema. Just remember, if you have any questions dont be afraid to ask. It's accualy encouraged. Anyway good luck, i hope you find a good MT gym as well.
