It was pretty entertaining, notice how they use more high roundhouses, and the odd turning kick . The tournament winner, Ignashov, deserved to win, he has a great high roundhouse .

I wonder what that altercation was about at the end, Le Bonner and Abidi....... probably about why Abidi threw in the towel?

A good set of wins for Ignashov... especially since he wasnt allowed to use his killer knee strikes.

He's got a deadly high kick though... i wonder if that Czech Pavel Majer is still alive? I heard he took a big one from Alex that got him KOed.

Abidi vs LeBanner should be interesting for the future. Though Im still confused as to what happened with the towel being thrown in. Was Abidi in any danger that warranted it being thrown in?

Default the towel

From what I saw (on Japanese TV), Apidi's leg was hammered a few good times at the end of round two. In the interval, his corner men were asking him something and he shook his head in the negative, which I took to mean--how's your leg? Totally screwed! So, the corner men gave him the first few seconds of round three to come out strong, but after his leg got hacked again, they threw in the towel, protecting him from any more damage (since it was clear that Alex was ahead on the score card).
We did not, however, get any post-fight Le Banner vs. Apidi action on Japanese TV.
-my two cents

Default Alex

That Alex is a psycho. Blank expression when he fights. Evil smirk when he takes someone out (vs Pettas in 2001 GP).

I wonder if he's ever been knocked down or knocked out in his 6 or 7 losses?

If he had fought against Mike Bernardo in the finals of the Nagoya GP in 2001 im pretty sure Mike wouldve KOed him since Mike was at his peak at that point... and Alex had some awkward boxing skills.

my two cents
