Default Problems with muay thai in Brazil

Hi,

Iīm from Brazil and I have been practicing muay thai for 3 years. Here you can count on fingers the number of good intructors and unfortunately, in the city where I live there is no one. I can say that my teacher is the best around and even with his lack of knowledgment I have a deep respect from him because it was he who introduced me to the world of muay thai and teached many technics.
Afew months ago, after accumulated a considerable amount of knowledgment due to my indefatigable search on books, videos and contacts with others instructors, I noticed that the training classes were becaming very boring and totally different from the world model so I got tired of it and decided to stop traing muay thai with him and decided to start training kung fu with him too, which is an art that I know he like most and knows a lot, but didnīt stoped training muay thai and begun to do it alone with the help of a frind. I prefer to train alone than to do the wrong work, even if itīs hard training.
The lack of good equipment is another problem here, thats why I am writting, we improvise with what we have but sometimes itīs impossible, at least for me. For example, we use a diferent kind of kicking pads, they were very heavy so the work with them is very limited, different from those good thai pads witch were very light, I got the oportunity to handle one on a trip to US, and I almost cried of satisfaction. They were so perfect!. Does anybody could tell me how they were made so that I can make one.
Buy through internet is very expensive for us due to our disvalorized money compared with US dollars, just to have an idea with US$100 I can buy 5 kicking pads here. I heard that equipments in thailand are very cheap if someone knows any site that sells cheap equipments I would appreciate.
That's it, as I said we improvise with what we have but we train very hard and were very tough too the important thing is to never stop training. When I get the majority the first thing I will do is go to thailand, I just canīt wait for that.
